​2023 Results Based Budget for MIDENO Adopted at 56th BOD


The 2023 Results based Budget for the North West Development Authority (MIDENO) has been examined and adopted. This was the outcome of the 56th BOARD of DIRECTORS Meeting that recently took place in Bamenda.

Chairing the meeting Saturday, H.E Governor LELE LAFRIQUE ADOLPHE announced the possible execution of some major development Projects in the North West Region come 2024. A 4.3 Billion CFA FRS Emergency Project which is  expected to fight against food insecurity in the Region was also announced.

The Board Chair saluted efforts by MIDENO Management to include the socioeconomic empowerment of persons living with disabilities (PWDs) in their 2023 activities. He urged that more PWDs be empowered next year.

Governor LELE LAFRIQUE equally called on the powers that be to appoint more women to join the other two on the Board, so that it can be gender balance.


“ The Board applauds field realizations recorded in 2023 particularly the distribution of quality planting material to farmers, the operationalization of the Heavy Duty Equipment Pool which has created noticeable community impact and generated internal revenue to mitigate the financial hiccups of the Authority”

Among recommendations made during the meeting were the following;

MIDENO Management should ensure gender sensitivity in budgeting, follow up ongoing road works like the construction of a fence in the MIDENO building, rehabilitation and maintenance of rural roads and Maize seed drying structures, etc.

The Project Coordinators for the Rice Value Chain Development Project (RVCDP) and Phase II of the Livestock and Fisheries Development Project (LIFIDEP) made Presentations on the rate of execution of the RVCDP and level of preparedness for the second Phase of LIFIDEP.

The 2023 Annual Report for MIDENO also featured on the agenda of the 56th BOD.
